Specifically, about the file extension, ".MOV." What is this file extension? .Mov is a movie file, as you might have guessed. The way a .MOV file works is in a multi-track format. These tracks Are Audio, Video, and Text (subtitles, titles). The reason for this is it makes each track interchangeable (in other words, the video editable in such ways as swapping audio tracks, and editing the video but not audio) only in Quicktime. This way, you are better convinced to purchase the Pro Version of Quicktime, where this can be easily performed.

In most cases, you won't want to open a .MOV file on a PC. Since it was made for and by a mac, it will produce various problems. A much better solution would be to use a freeware program to convert the .MOV file to a .WMV (Windows Media Video). These files are opened on a PC no hassle, since they are easily opened in Windows Media Player, a free program that comes on every PC.
Once you have our .MOV file converted into a nice, easy to use .WMV, simply open it in Windows Media Player by right clicking, going down to "Open With," then selected Windows Media Player. It's That easy.
